AVA (“we”, “our”, or “us”) provides a shopping assistant that helps users search for products, compare prices, and streamline checkout across supported websites.
We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring transparency about how data is handled.
Certain assisted-checkout features are only available when using the official AVA Chrome Extension on desktop Chrome. The Progressive Web App (PWA), mobile browsers, and other environments may offer conversational or browsing features without the same assisted-checkout depth.
AI LIMITATION CLAUSE
AVA-Shops is an AI-powered shopping assistant that helps streamline product search and checkout on supported sites.
By using AVA-Shops, you acknowledge that:
Results may not always be accurate, complete, or up-to-date
Product selection, pricing, availability, and checkout behavior may vary
Assisted actions are performed based on interpreted input and may not always reflect user intent perfectly
AVA-Shops does not guarantee error-free operation.
Users are responsible for reviewing final checkout details before confirming a purchase.
Payments for subscriptions, credits, and usage are for access to the platform and its features, not for guaranteed outcomes or results.
2. Information We Collect
a. Information You Provide
Search queries and product requests (e.g., “add AA batteries”)
Voice input (when microphone access is enabled)
Optional wake-word activation when you enable it (local listening for the activation phrase while the AVA experience is active)
User actions within the AVA interface (e.g., adding items to cart, confirming checkout)
Account or waitlist information you submit (such as email), email used for billing restore codes, and subscription or plan status when applicable
Cart contents and short-term search or session resume data stored locally on your device or tied to your account identifier
Optional visual search: if you use camera or image upload features, the image (or derived features) is sent to our systems to fulfill your product search request
Referral activity when you use invite or referral features (e.g., referral codes and pseudonymous identifiers tied to rewards)
b. Automatically Collected Information
Basic usage data (feature interactions, timestamps)
Device and browser type (for performance and compatibility)
Session-level and pseudonymous identifiers (such as a canonical user ID, device alias, and client session markers) used for system functionality, credits or usage accounting, and abuse prevention
Coarse location signals such as time zone or region bucket where used for ranking or suggestions
Security-related data such as hashed IP addresses for rate limiting and fraud prevention (not sold)
Error, diagnostic, and performance data to keep the service reliable
Limited analytics (e.g., page or feature usage, referral link usage) associated with anonymous or pseudonymous IDs
c. Website Interaction Data
When you use AVA on supported sites (e.g., shopping websites), the extension may:
Interact with page elements to assist with cart and checkout actions you initiate
The extension is intended to operate in the context of supported retailer domains during an active AVA session. It does not monitor unrelated browsing, collect full browsing history, or access unrelated tabs for marketing purposes.
Much of this data is processed in real time and is not stored long-term unless required for functionality, security, billing metadata, or as described under retention below.
d. What We Do Not Collect
AVA does not collect, store, or transmit:
Full payment card numbers or CVV codes
Retailer account passwords or login credentials for external websites
Personal messages from other applications
Content from unrelated browser tabs (outside supported checkout-assistance contexts)
e. AI and system-assisted processing
We use system-assisted processing (including AI models) to interpret requests, run search and matching, generate responses, and assist with permitted actions. These systems process only information needed to fulfill your request. You remain responsible for purchase decisions; AVA does not complete purchases without your confirmation where confirmation is required.
3. How We Use Information
We use collected data to:
Provide accurate product search and matching
Display pricing and product details
Enable cart and guided checkout assistance you request
Operate subscriptions, credits, and usage limits where applicable
Improve performance and reliability
Run analytics and product improvement in aggregated or pseudonymous form
Prevent abuse and ensure system security
Comply with law and enforce our terms
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data.
We may share limited data with:
Service providers (e.g., backend hosting, analytics, infrastructure, AI inference providers as needed to operate the service)
Payment processors (e.g., Stripe) for subscriptions, credit packs, and paid features
Apple (when you use the AVA-Shops iOS app) for device permissions, Siri shortcuts, App Intents, and system features you enable
Retail platforms (only as required to complete actions like adding items to cart or navigating checkout you direct)
Affiliate networks for commission reporting when qualifying links are used
Authorities when required by law
5. Payments
Payments are processed securely through Stripe (or another designated processor).
AVA does not store or process your full payment card details
Payment information is handled directly by the processor in accordance with their privacy and security policies
We may receive limited billing metadata (e.g., customer ID, subscription status, payment status, last four digits when provided, billing region for tax)
Retailer purchases: When you buy from a retailer, payment runs on that retailer’s systems. AVA may see masked hints shown by the retailer UI (e.g., card ending in ****) only to help you confirm a choice—not full card data.
6. Data Storage and Retention
Much operational data is processed in real time and not kept permanently
Temporary session and preference data may be retained to maintain functionality (including local storage in your browser or app)
Server logs and similar operational logs may be retained for a limited period (e.g., on the order of weeks to months) for debugging, security, and improvement
Billing and transaction records may be retained or anonymized as required for accounting, tax, fraud prevention, and legal obligations
Aggregate search and product-interaction data used to improve ranking (not linked to your identity after account deletion) may be retained
Data may be processed in the United States and in other locations where our service providers operate. Where possible we aggregate or minimize identifiers. See our Terms of Service for subscription billing and refund practices.
Account Deletion
You may delete your AVA-Shops account from within the app: open the credits and plans screen, then go to Settings → Account → Delete Account, and confirm deletion.
When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize account-bound data, including:
Your user profile, pseudonymous account identifier, and linked device mappings
Recovery and access credentials (including email-restore linkage where stored for your account)
Credit balances, subscription status on our systems, trial counters, and wallet state
Per-user session context, cart state, personalization, and locally stored account data cleared on your device
Per-user search resume or assistant logs tied to your account identifier
We may retain or anonymize certain records where required by law or legitimate business needs, including:
Billing and transaction metadata (with personal identifiers removed or replaced where feasible)
Stripe customer and payment records maintained by Stripe under their policies
Security, fraud-prevention, and audit logs (often with pseudonymous references only)
Aggregated analytics and non-personal product-ranking signals not tied to your deleted account
Account deletion is permanent. Deleted accounts cannot be recovered, and remaining credits or subscription access are forfeited except where required by law.
7. Permissions
The AVA extension or app may request permissions such as:
Access to specific websites (to assist with shopping actions on supported domains)
Storage (to maintain session state and preferences)
Microphone (for voice interaction, if enabled)
Camera or media access only if you choose visual search features that require it
These permissions are used strictly to provide core functionality.
8. Security
We implement reasonable safeguards to protect data, including:
Secure API communication (HTTPS)
Rate limiting and abuse protection
Access controls and limited retention
Validation of extension and server communications where applicable
9. Your Choices
You can:
Delete your account in-app via Settings → Account → Delete Account (see Account Deletion above)
Disable microphone or camera access via browser or device settings
Turn off optional features such as wake word where offered
Remove the extension or clear site data to reduce locally stored preferences
Contact us regarding other privacy requests as described below
10. Children’s Privacy

11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised date. Where appropriate, we may provide additional notice or seek renewed acceptance.
We may also respond from related operational addresses we publish for support.
